EQUESTRIAN EDUCATION AND TRAININGPractitioner TrainingThe 'Saddles' are the official designation of the different levels of technical skill of the practitioner, and comprise 9 levels ranging from Saddle 1 to Saddle 9. Saddle 1 to Saddle 4 - the first cycle of learning, at the end of which the rider can compete in official national competitions. At the end of this cycle, the rider is awarded the Bronze Stirrup Diploma.. Saddle 5 to Saddle 7 - the second cycle of learning, at the end of which the rider can take part in official international competitions. At the end of this cycle, the rider is awarded the Silver Stirrup Diploma. The Saddle Exams allow students to systematise their learning, set objectives and achieve them. They also allow you to deepen your knowledge in areas that go beyond equestrian practice, such as the handling and care of horses, harnesses and facilities, and the theory taught before, during and after equestrian practice exercises. The assessment for each cycle consists of a written test and two practical tests:
The Rui Barroso Riding School is accredited by the Portuguese Equestrian Federation to conduct the Saddle 4 and Saddle 7 exams, and provides the corresponding exam preparation manuals.
